Pre-Concert Lectures

During pre-concert lectures, Maestro Mark Thielen takes audiences on a journey into the life & times of composers, identifying themes in the music and offering insight into the processes that created familiar Masterworks. These 30-minute lectures take place 45-minutes before concerts in the concert hall. Pre-registration is not required. Admission included with your concert ticket.

Listeners’ Club

The study of music has many connections with the multitude of humanities disciplines. With an emphasis on appreciation, a jaunt into history and a hint of technique, lectures for adults stretch music’s value beyond entertainment.

The ISO’s Listeners’ Club, in partnership with the Lakeland Public Library, presents free lectures and discussions related to upcoming ISO performances and symphonic music in general. Learn about composers, musical themes, instruments and your ISO musicians in an interactive lecture once a month.

Second Wednesdays @ 6 p.m.
Lakeland Public Library/Main
100 Lake Morton Dr

A planned HVAC repair may displace Listeners’ Club lectures in 2020.
