Cookies, Music and… a Wolf?

That’s what you’ll find at the Imperial Symphony Orchestra’s March 12 Cookie Concert presented by Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc. Prokofiev’s iconic tale of Peter and the Wolf paints the musical picture of a brave young boy and his quest to save his animal friends. Each character in the story is represented by an instrument family and a unique musical theme, and a narrator connects everything together.

The ISO will be joined by actor Ben Heaps who will bring Peter’s adventure to life.

Prior to the performance, ISO musicians will host an “instrument petting zoo” giving children an opportunity to touch and try instruments they see on stage. Additional activities encourage children to enjoy a story or watch sound move in a special soundwave demonstration.

And then, there are cookies! Following the concert, guests are invited to enjoy Publix cookies and juice in the lobby.

Pre-concert activities begin at 2 p.m. and the concert begins at 3 p.m. The event is free to attend and guests are encouraged to bring a can of tuna or other non-perishable food item for VISTE.
