ISO Announces 2017-2018 Season

The board of directors of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra presents the 2017-2018 season, complete with five series performances, two family concerts, Pops by the Lake and the favorite special event, A Night at the Opera! The season includes Broadway favorites, American classics, Viennese icons and even something called a "Mashup!" To learn more about the performances in the season, visit the 2017-2018 Season page. Masterworks #3 (Romantic Symphony) Program Notes Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) Sleeping Beauty Suite, Op. 66a Tchaikovsky’s first ballet, Swan Lake (1877) was a revolutionary work. Its intensely dramatic score was so demanding for choreographer, dancers and orchestra that from its premiere, music from other composers was increasingly substituted for Tchaikovsky’s original score.
